*******
"Follow Your Bliss" I believe I've heard it said.
Finding ones joy.  The "Happy Place".

Working through that today.

I'm facing fears.  Cold, wind, elevation, missing family, etc.

With the fat that is removing itself from my frame, I feel drafts now as clothing layers are being tested.  I will soon need a wind break / water repelling layer but I'm waiting on the end of Christmas sale.

I'm wearing cotton today because I've missed the feeling of it against my skin.  The new weave fiber t-shirts, shorts, socks and such do their job and will continue to do their job as I work forward but today, my skin needed a break.

Researching simmering alcohol stoves and my choice of fuel, EverClear.  I know I'll create a Pepsi-Guinness stove that will simmer for a long period of time as needed for baking.

To make one simmer, many attempts have been logged:
Designs from the Penny used to hole off the center flames.
Having two stoves for different purposes: Boil and Simmer.
Remote cable slots that move to open or close off air flow.
Pans or manufactured adjustable cap snuffers.
Choices, choices, choices.

Then comes all the wind screen designs as wind is the nemesis for low flame, high altitude cooking and baking.

I also desire to cook with sticks of oak, cherry, maple, ash, etc as it appears EVERYWHERE along the wooded path.
Wood is harder to simmer with unless I make a ground pit to place campfire ashes in with an air vent adjustment for the pit as I learned somewhere along the scout path.
Maybe that day I catch a Rainbow Trout on a lazy stream day.
Sounds about right. :)

Seems that others before me (Blogs from 2006 and a few a bit earlier) have successfully enjoyed their A.T. adventure, baking all along the way.

A great suggestion I found was to make lunch the big meal of the day.  While soaking ones feet in a stream, enjoy the slower paced experience of making bread for the nights meal or cooking up a pizza, cookie, cake ... hmmm?  I'm finding some nice recipes along with the ease with hiking vibe.

The 2QZQ tree table will make this easier too.  I just have to wait a couple of weeks for mine to arrive.  They are made to order and I suspect it will come back with my HH that I had altered by them.
My windscreen, stove and pot support will be all custom to my tree table.  That way it will be form fit and will fasten to not move.

I'll have a level surface to prep food, off of the ground.
Then, I'll have a level surface to cook on and a place for all the cooking gadgets that are sometimes needed.
They will hang there like on my grill at home.
I'll be testing that too on the porch long before I get into the woods the first time.

Got a fresh, unopened bottle of fuel just a waitin.

According to QUORA and their contributor Ty Joseph,

It is illegal to sell or purchase ANY FORM of Everclear in New Hampshire, Nevada, California, Ohio, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Hawaii, Iowa, Minnesota and North Carolina.
It is legal to sell or purchase Everclear 151-proof (75.5% alcohol by volume, 70.5% by weight) in the other 36 States in the United States. Everclear 190-proof (95% alcohol by volume, 92% alcohol by weight ) is also legal to sell in the other 36 states, However some of them require that the person buying everclear must be 25 years of age or older, and some require permits or licences to purchase it.
Only in the U.S States of Rhode Island & Texas, and the Canadian Province of Alberta, Everclear 195-proof (97.5% alcohol by volume, the most pure & highest alcohol content possible) is legal and available for sale.

Zen Stoves goes on to add:

Grain Alcohol (aka pure ethanol, pure grain alcohol, PGA, grain neutral spirits, GNS, rectified spirit, rectified alcohol, medical grade ethanol, ethyl anhydrous, moonshine) -

     Grain Alcohol

Everclear Grain Alcohol and Golden Grain alcohol from the David Sherman Corporation come in 95% (190 proof) bottles.  This fuel works well but is an expensive option and may be illegal or difficult to purchase in many places.  It is also non-toxic and can double for medicinal uses.

Grain alcohol can also be made at home in large quantities, though perhaps not legally in your area without special permits or permission (See TTB Forms).

I guess I could talk to my neighbors and see if they could "Still" me up a batch but it is still illegal.  Not uncommon, just illegal.
Since there are only five (5) states that I notice will have an issue with my fuel of choice (Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and North Carolina), I'll be sure to have enough in my MSR Fuel bottle to get me to the next supply point when passing through.
MSR Fuel Bottle

Quick Glance shows me:
(1) State on my first Leg: Maryland.
(3) on my second Leg: Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.
(1) on my final Leg: North Carolina

The other 9 on the A.T. "should" balance it all out.

Last thing to consider is a wider area wind screen made out of Tyvek or Reynolds Clear Oven Wrap material.
I'll have needs to consider how that can be wrapped around the tree and supported up higher on the tree, yet stay out of flames way.
Drafts from under the flames needs to be considered as well then.

Testing, testing, testing ... I'm coming into one of my elements. :)

Well, not much else to say on this relaxing Sunday.
Enjoy the Day!
