Where I begin...

I've hiked the entire
width of the
Appalachian Trail!

Sometimes it feels that way.
Like:
"If my dream is so in me to compel my drive, why have I not completed it yet?"

Only I can answer that one and most times it appears and has some truth to be just a bunch of lame excuses.
Yes, outside things & events need to line up as well, for this adventure does not just include me but includes my partner, film crew and support team.
Logistics.

We brainstorm and dream.
Get out there and test.
Evaluate, ponder & document while we also
decompress, enjoy and savor the experiences and times.

Through this process we did find one answer yesterday to a filming dilemma.
The solution came from watching the Ron Howard film on YouTube:
When You Find Me

Watch it if you have a few moments....it was a very good film.
We now understand how we will get our aerial footage.
Funny how things like that happen.

Just moving forward, always forward.Link

Introduction

I, Kindle McGuinness, am set to embark on a magical, mystical journey into the unknown.
Unknown to me that is.

Starting from nothing and moving forward to produce something of value.
Sharing my journeys as they unfold.

"To The Trail" is a journal/blog documenting the steps taken as I work towards performing a long distance excursion of the Appalachian Trail.
AT Start Date: April 2016  now 2020
AT Completion Date: November 2016 now 2020
(a true Blue Moon Year)
Still,  as Oct 31st 2020 is a blue moon.  :)

Documentation that will be captured in the forms of film, video, sound and words.

My personal goals and the hopeful end results:
  • Educational Film
  • Inspirational Book
  • Life Time Achievement

I have much to learn this year as I find myself moving forward towards my dream.
  • How to write (scripts, story lines, novels and biography)
  • Professional filming techniques (natural light, equipment and settings)
  • Liabilities & Laws (film rights, insurance and copyright protection)
  • Physical demands (I'm not getting younger & I'm presently pudgy)
  • Staying true to the Leave No Trace guidelines (making sure no one can tell I was there)
  • Creating ultra-light equipment (design ideas I wish to test)

My initial thoughts are vague right now but slowly coming into focus.
I understand this is a work in progress on both myself and my situation.
I have no where else to start from than where I am at.

Let the journey begin!
