Moving forward.
In trying to create a daily mundane routine to simulate a
"feeling" that I might get while hiking, this daily blog hit a lull.

I'm very close to the Set #70, 1/2 way point too.
I'll continue out of personal commitment as that is the reason I began.  I had to come against this "Battle of inner wills" eventually.

I understood fully what I'm putting myself through in changing old habits into newer habits.  My "self" is going to rebel at some, if not many points along my life journey going forward.  That's just what it is.  It rebelled a few day's back as I'm going into new territory of doing crunches each morning about 10 days straight before a day off.  This morning it complied with 100 crunches before coffee. No complaints and did it like it is going to for the rest of my life.

Toughest choice during this mornings mat work was to NOT perform push ups on Tuesday as I've been for the past few weeks.  Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
This week, just Wednesday and Friday as I'm working my lower body (mainly Chuck Norris Squats) on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday this week.  Shake up time.  New routine in the weight room.

It is odd how the body will go with a new routine until it won't.
Changing up the routine every 4 weeks is a good starting point.
I've gone primarily since the Beginning of August without changing much, just adding to my routine on some different days.
All by the calendar.  Now I'll be creating a spreadsheet to mix things up.   I've lots of spreadsheets for this adventure and I read yesterday that I'm not alone.  This is a rut and part of my lull.
I felt it coming on and needed a focus so a book found me.

I purchased a used book from GoodWill to be both frugal and kind.
I'm glad that they list most of their books on eBay for easy search.
This book in particular: "How to Hike the A.T." by Michelle Ray caught my attention in a hiking blog while searching for a fix.
as it systematically goes thru the thought process and multiple actions needed to get To The Trail.  $3.99 plus tax & free Shipping.

Every aspect of preparation.
Yes, it is 10 years old.  Still mostly pertinent.
As the title continues:
"The Nitty-Gritty Details of a Long-Distance Trek."

I was last following trail journals of other hikers in 2007 and 2008.
I was following closer that year than many others because I felt in my heart of hearts that I would have been hiking with that group.
I could have obtained a leave of absence from my work at the University with the assurance that my job would be there in the Fall when I completed the trek.  No pay, no assistance just a hearty handshake and a belief that my job was secure "IF" I was to hike.

Life just did not line up that way for me back then.
I did manage to catch a few "Trail Days" in Damascus, VA a couple of years in a row since we lived about 60 miles from there.
I personally won a backpack with gear and Italian Hiking shoes from Backpacker Magazine.
It's all part of their Annual - Get Out More campaign.

My nephew then won a similar deal a few years later and his shoes were not transferable because of their size, so I traded a Zero Degree Sleeping Bag for the pair my nephew won.  My free Italian Hikers got replaced by an extra piece of gear that I was not using that was free to begin with.  Just had to be present for the drawing.

The universe takes care of me when I ask.  Always.
I just forget to ask correctly.  Usually always, lol.   :)

*********
I'm also working on a few other books but the T.V. has been capturing more of my time due to troubleshooting our newest Antenna and with testing streaming devices the past couple of months with Football.
Primarily what drives this need is the Buffalo Bills and being able to watch them in the mountains of KY or anywhere I travel in this country of ours during the Fall Football Seasons.

A focused effort and nip at it persistence produced a winning combo to use as a guideline for "next" football season.
I believe I can get most, if not all, Buffalo Bills games next year for less than what DirecTV was charging.  That will be the goal eventually.  Next season, I'll be walking for most of the first half.

What makes it tougher is that the Bills are doing better and with that comes prime time games which cost more to set up and watch.
Instead of just getting them mostly on CBS or Fox, now there's NBC, ABC (ESPN) & NFL Network.

Now that the playoffs are here, most of all the games will be on Antenna feed.  A few might still be on the other carriers in the early parts of the playoffs as the Saturday games get split by the other networks and each week it seems they "bid" on the rights to the match ups.  But mostly it will be CBS for the AFC and Fox for the NFC.  I'm not sure who is doing the Superbowl in Tampa?

I guess it does not really matter.  It's only football.

Gear update:
I found a deal on an XXL Windbreak/Rainbreaker by Under Armor.
The extra size I needed and a sale on eBay for a new one.
$59.99 and tax.
Still has it's tags.
Looks to have just been taken out of it's original shipping bag.
Nice deal and I was ready to purchase as the season allowed.
That helps.

I have much stitching to remove and then add to 3 quilts.
Spreadsheets, spreadsheets and spreadsheets.  I'm thankful for Apache Open Office 4.1.7 right now as it's a stop gap until I get Excel working on this new laptop.

Keeping busy on this relaxing Christmas Eve and Christmas week.
Seems it will continue into the new year.

Remember:
2020 IS A YEAR TO BUILD YOUR DREAMS!
The foundations you create now you will build upon for years to come.
Pluto and Saturn will make a rare connection in Capricorn.
This hasn’t happened in our heavens since 1518 AD.
This is setting the stage for a rebuilding of every aspect of your life.

This is an extraordinary year.  It's the beginning of a brand new decade.
The foundations you create now you will build upon for years to come.
OR

2020 can be a year that you feet restricted at every turn, have clashes with authority, feel either controlled or out-of-control by your circumstances and experience a sense of limitations in your life.

So I'm being told by others who study gravity and push/pull forces ...  and internet marketing. lol.
